Hello there! I’m Simone Mulas
Artist and Teacher.
Is talent our starting level, the hightest level we can reach or simply our willingness to learn?
My name is Simone Mulas, I was born in Bologna, Italy, in 1990 and I am an hyperrealist artist.
Ever since I was a kid, art seemed a natural part of my life; I had always cultivated the passion for drawing and I never abandoned it.
Despite my early aspirations, in 2009 I decided to enroll in the Faculty of Economics, subtly nudged towards a more stable profession.
I still remember the look on people’s faces when I told them that I wanted to become an artist: a mixture of pity and concern: “Why don’t you look for a real job?”
Although I achieved good results in my exams, I wasn’t happy with what I was doing with my life and the path I chose to follow, I just couldn’t picture myself working behind a desk and doing paperwork all day long. For this reason, in 2012 I decided to change my life and reclaim my freedom – I devoted myself completely to art and overcome the fear of external judment and self-limiting beliefs.
I didn’t receive any formal education in the visual arts, I wasn’t following a curriculum or being told exactly where and what to study, but I have been focusing my efforts on developing myself technically from different sources, like manuals, books, videos, workshops, online courses and a large dose of trial-and-error.
A few years later, my art gained worldwide recognition from galleries and collectors and through social media.
I do believe it’s not just about talent.
It’s about passion, hard work, dedication and having the willingness to learn.
I love sharing everything I’ve learned and that’s why I created “Reflection” – Hyperrealism Drawing Course.
I want to help others on their journey of becoming an artist and give them the support they need so they don’t have to figure it all out by themselves.
